Shabbat Together - Friday, Feb 22

Synagogue Emanu-El is more than a building.  We are a community bound together through a commitment to Judaism and each other.  We would like to celebrate the warmth of our synagogue and community.  We are calling this celebration Shabbat Together.

Many of our congregants have volunteered to open up their homes, inviting you to share a Shabbat dinner with them. All you have to do is make a reservation by Friday, February 15th and tell us how many will be in your party and if you require a kosher home or have other dietary needs.  You will receive a call by February 19th letting you know whose home you will be welcoming in Shabbat.

If your family or group of friends already have a regular Shabbat dinner and you’d like to invite others, we would love to have you be a part of Shabbat Together.  Just let us know how many seats you have available and we will extend your gracious invitation of Shabbat hospitality to those who have RSVP’d asking for a reservation.

The guidelines to host a Shabbat Together are few.  You decide your own menu, your own style, and topics of discussions.  Most importantly, please have fun.  We do ask that all dinners be kosher or kosher style.

We only ask one thing from each host.  Please take a picture of your group and e-mail it to the office at  We will put all photos in a future Scroll.

If you would like to be a host or a guest, please contact Joan Halushka at 843-571-3707 or Gary Weinstein at 843-767-3313 or Suzanne Lynch at 843-224-0322.
