Apr 3 - Your Connection to the Emanu-El Office:  Stronger than Ever!

April 3, 2020

As you are aware, the building is closed.  Our office team is working from their homes to stay safe.  Although we are physically separated, know that your synagogue's staff is in frequent communication with congregants, lay leadership, the rabbi, and each other and leadership throughout the day.  They welcome your outreach.

The synagogue's staff remains available to assist you during business hours, from 8:30-4:30 Monday through Friday.

Contacting the Office

  • The quickest way to contact staff is now via e-mail
  • Mail is being collected twice a week, so this is the least efficient way to reach us, but it is still viable
  • Any staff member can process donation requests
  • All donations will be charged to the credit card on file unless prior arrangements have been made
  • Any staff member can update your information in the administrative system, ShulCloud

TIP:  It might be helpful to think of your smartphone as a scanner - taking a picture of a piece of paper and emailing the picture is a great way to send information.

Voice messages on the office phone (843-571-3264) are picked up 2-3 times a day.  When leaving a message, please consider the following:

In general, you can target your inquiries using this guide:

We have been on a journey to use technology to make us more efficient.  During these unsettled times, it is the perfect opportunity to make technology an integral part of our synagogue interface.

ShulCloud, accessed via, is a gateway to all aspects of your account.  Log in to:

  • Make donations and dedications to any of our funds
  • Make account payments
  • Update personal information
  • View current lifecycle information (only available to logged in members at like birthdays, anniversaries, and yahrzeits
  • Update your payment method (credit card)
  • View transactions

You can also download the easy-to-use Synagogue Emanu-El app from the Apple Store and Google Play.  This app will allow you to quickly access and your ShulCloud account.

While we have email addresses for most congregants, please use this opportunity to log into the system and update your information.   If you have forgotten your password, or if you have never used the system, you can retrieve your password at this link.

Still having a problem making the technology work?  If so, contact Joe at or leave him a message at the office, ext. 11.

Changes in Processes

To reduce the staff's need to go to the office to print letters and cards, we will be switching from postal mail to emails for the following:

  • Donation/Dedication Acknowledgements/receipts
  • Donation Notifications, which replace the cards that were previously sent when a donation is made in honor/memory of someone
  • Monthly statements

The very few congregants for whom we do not have email addresses - or who have no access to email - will still receive mailed statements.  The Scroll will be mailed to those who receive it that way as usual.

Remember - the fastest, most efficient way to send money and information right now is electronically, so please consider putting a credit card on file to use and ensuring we have your correct e-mail address.

Staying In Touch

Office staff will be reaching out to you beginning this week to check in, ensure we have the correct contact information, and see if you have other immediate needs we can help meet.

But you don't have to wait for us to reach out - please stay in touch with us.  The rabbi, Daphne, office staff, and leadership remain committed to serving you during this period of uncertainty and separation.

Please, let's not let social distancing get in the way of staying close and communicating.
