In-Person Services Protocol

Post-Thanksgiving COVID-19 Update

Updated December 2, 2020

The following are guidelines to be followed. During this time of elevated case numbers, strict adherence to the guidelines are absolutely mandatory to manage risk of infection with COVID 19.  People who are at risk according to CDC guidelines, or are uncomfortable attending gatherings should consult a physician to make a decision on attendance.  All services will be available livestreamed or shared on Zoom to enable all members and guests to attend Synagogue Emanu-El services and events remotely.

  • Tuesday Minyan and Shabbat Services are open for limited attendance.  If you would like to attend Shabbat services, sign up on our website (Saturday morning)
  • Participants must wear a face mask that covers both the mouth and nose and practice social distancing of 6 feet or more at all times while on synagogue property.  Special attention to distancing should be practiced during entry and exit from the building and in the parking lot, with the exception of individuals who are from the same household.
  • Participants will wait outside the building until admitted by Emanu-El staff or designated lay leaders.
  • Main atrium doors will be used for entering and departing the building for services.
  • Participants must sanitize their hands upon arrival.
  • Participants must be prepared to verbally confirm compliance with a Health checklist if requested.
  • Participants will be assigned seats in the sanctuary and/or social hall to ensure increased distance to allow singing and to limit crossing paths.
  • Participants will exit the building according to requests of Emanu-El staff or designated lay leaders.
