Covid Update - August 2021

The following are updated policies from the Covid Task Force, adapted from a recent communication to the congregation.

“Do not separate yourself from the community.”
– Hillel, Pirkei Avot 2:4

Dear Emanu-El Community:

We look forward to coming together as a community during the upcoming High Holiday period, 2021/5782. You will receive details on programming, tickets, and logistics later this week.  In preparation for the Holidays, below is an update from our Covid Task Force with specifics for our Covid Protocols beginning this week.

Masks/Covid Protocols: Given the CDC’s recent guidelines recommending masking indoors, and the uptick in numbers in the Tricounty area due to the Delta variant, masks are now required of all attendees, vaccinated and unvaccinated, when attending indoor services at Synagogue Emanu-El.  At outdoor programs, masks are required for unvaccinated individuals and recommended for vaccinated individuals when in close proximity to others. This policy will begin on Wednesday, August 4th. At individual workspaces and in small group meetings, masks are recommended but not required unless a participant is unvaccinated.

Pod Spacing Policy for the High Holidays: With masks required, the Task Force has established that pod seating areas in the Social Hall will be spaced three (3) feet apart for those who are unvaccinated or have health concerns.

We appreciate your understanding and support of our policies. If you have questions please contact us.
