Upcoming Sisterhood Events

ANNUAL SISTERHOOD SHABBAT: JANUARY 2012

SHABBAT VA’ERA

 

Friday January 20th through Sunday January 22nd, 2012

Join us for this special expanded event, with over 40 women leading and participating in services. Both Friday night and Saturday morning services, including the reading of all Torah Portions and the Haftorah, will be run by women.

Anne Greenbaum, President of the Southern Region Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, will be joining us for this event.

We will also be honoring past Sisterhood and past Women’s League Southern region president, Gloria Adelson, during Saturday morning services.

This is a special event for our egalitarian congregation and a wonderful service for young girls and young women to witness.

Program of Events: JEWISH WOMEN AND SOCIAL ACTION

Friday night: 6.00 pm services followed by dinner in the Social Hall sponsored by Sisterhood at Synagogue Emanu-El.

Saturday morning: Synagogue Emanu-El

9.00am – 9.30am ‘DANISH & DRASH’ led by Ellen Miriam Brandwein and Anne Greenbaum in the Library.

9.30am – Regular services begin, followed by a Kiddush Luncheon sponsored by the Sisterhood.

Sunday morning: 9.00am at the home of Gloria Adelson.  Short Havdalah service followed by women’s Minyan.

10:00am- 11:00am Brunch and program led by Ellen Miriam Brandwein and Anne Greenbaum.
