Our Fundraising Supports:

• The Religious School

  Funds go towards helping pay for teachers' salaries, classroom equipment and books (including Siddurim and Tanachim), holiday celebrations and social functions.

  We support our Hebrew and Sunday school from pre -school through to Confirmation. School fees are kept as low as possible with the help of funds from the Sisterhood.

• Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS)

  All money raised by the Torah Fund program goes to the JTS supporting the Rabbinical and Cantorial Colleges, List College, the University of Judaism in Los Angeles and JTS in Israel.

• Synagogue Kitchen

  Sisterhood supports and maintains the kitchen. Our kitchen is used for every catered event including Bar/Bat mitzvahs, so it needs to be well equipped and kept in excellent condition.

Sisterhood Sponsored Programs

• Bereavement Committee

  After the funeral of a Synagogue member, the Sisterhood provides the Shiva meal for the family.

• Hospital Visitation Committee

  We will be happy to visit anyone who is sick in the hospital. Please let us know.

• College Liaison

  This is an outreach program to our college students.

• Judaica Shop

  This provides Judaica including mezuzahs, kosher scrolls, tallit, yarmulkes etc. and catalogues to help with other needs.

• Shabbat Kiddush Luncheon

  Once a month the Sisterhood sponsors a Shabbat Kiddush luncheon as part of the monthly Anniversary celebrations.

• Sisterhood Shabbat

  Once a year Sisterhood members organize and participate in a Saturday morning Shabbat service.

• Bimah Flowers

  Two arrangements of silk or fresh flowers are always provided for the Bimah. Special flower arrangements are made for the five major holidays.

• Courtyard Landscaping

  We contribute to the upkeep of these areas that help to beautify the grounds of our Synagogue.

• Emanu-El Grams

  This is a wonderful way to send greetings to all your friends having anniversaries.

• Book Review

  We meet once a month in a member's home to review and discuss books in a stimulating and exciting atmosphere.

• Small Discussion Groups

  We assist our members in forming small groups so they can pursue shared interests or study.

• JCC Senior Program Luncheon

  We provide a luncheon to the Seniors at the JCC twice a year.

• Ice Cream Socials

  We provide funds for the Ice Cream Socials held during Simchat Torah and Purim, for the Religious School children.
