HONORING GLORIA ADELSON AT SHABBAT SERVICES

 and  WELCOMING ANNE GREENBAUM, President of the Southern Region

of  The Women’s League for Conservative Judaism

PROGRAM OF EVENTS:

Friday Night January 20, 2012

6:00pm Synagogue Emanu-El

Entire evening services led by Sisterhood members and their daughters

7:00pm Dinner in the Social Hall sponsored by the Sisterhood

 

Saturday Morning January 21, 2012

9:00am – 9:30am ‘DANISH & DRASH’ in the Synagogue Library

Led by Ellen Miriam Brandwein

9:30am  Regular Shabbat services begin

Entire service led by 47 members of the Sisterhood and their daughters.

Kiddush Luncheon following services sponsored by the Sisterhood and the Rose and Henry Koslow Fund.

 

Sunday Morning January 22, 2012

9:00am at the home of Gloria Adelson.

Short Havdalah service followed by a Women’s Minyan led by Ellen Miriam Brandwein

10:00am -11:00am Brunch and talk by Anne Greenbaum.

“Leadership: from Moses to Sisterhood”

Brunch sponsored by Gloria Adelson

 

FRIDAY NIGHT DINNER January 20th

Cost: $12/adult, $8/children 12 and under

Please make your reservation by Friday January 13th, 2012

Send your check (made out to the Sisterhood) to the Synagogue office

 

SUNDAY MORNING BRUNCH January 22nd

Home of Gloria Adelson at 4 Berwick Circle  , Charleston, SC 29407.  No cost

  1. Thanks to all who are working so long and hard to make this a success. I’m inspired each year to see how many more of our members have acquired an interest in reading Hebrew and reading Torah because of seeing their peers learn the same the previous year. Sisterhood Shabbat inspires us to grow in our observance of and participation in Judaism. We serve as role models for our daughters, and they do the same for us.

    Thanks, again, to all, and especially to Patti Bagg who has nurtured this event from a small amount of Sisterhood participation to an *entire weekend* of Shabbat observance led by Emanu-El sisters.
